
ROWDY Computer Lab
ROWDY is suited up and ready to beat the illiteracy problem in Houston. The founder is teaming up with technical professionals to help eradicate illiteracy. Computers loaded with customized software designed to improve the academic performance of children and youth who practice regularly are deployed to community organizations committed to the educational welfare of economically disadvantaged individuals. We are not able to accomodate all requests for computer labs. We are limited based on the funding receive during our budget cycle.
Objective: To set up twenty five (25) computer labs over the next five (5) years
Rickie promotes education by encouraging youth to use the customized software daily in preparation for the fun and competitive event. Students are exercising their minds and improving their skills in reading, writing, math, science, geography, keyboarding and other areas of knowledge.
Objective: To improve academic performance of young students.
The Computer Olympics is a free event that attracts 400 plus Kids ages 2-12 who attend summer programs at schools, childcare centers, after-school programs and youth centers throughout the city that have computer labs provided via a partnership with Bridging the Digital Divide Inc. The kids compete on computers in 14 educational categories. Such as math, spelling, keyboarding, flag identification, and memory tests. The winners of each event are awarded gold, sliver, and bronze medals. Each gold medalist wins a refurbished computer with 300 programs installed. All kids who participate receive T-shirts plus lunch and snacks.















ROWDY Youth on the Move Clinics
Rickie promotes education and making positive life choices as he facilitates and shares his unique personal experiences during these informative group sessions
Character Plus+
Objective: To educate youth on the importance of character; includes anti drug, diversity and anti gang component; encourages volunteerism and community involvement
Free Throw Frenzy/Powerful 3 Point Play
Objective: To educate youth on the importance of staying in school and pursuing a higher education
Jump Shot/Just Dunk It
Objective: To educate youth on general health and wellness issues in our community; high blood pressure, diabetes, impact on health care costs; stresses the importance of physical activity and nutrition;
